Layla and I hiked up First Chance Creek 2010-05-18. Despite the 70F
weather, the winter's overflow ice was still many feet deep on the
creek, making a passable trail even in normal shoes. In some places,
the creek had cut through 10+ feet of ice, cutting a meandering path
through layered ice reminiscent of the Grand Canyon!
