There's a Linotype machine sitting by the side of the road just behind the east Fred Meyer's in Fairbanks, Alaska. The machine is just to the south and west of the parking lot of Fred Meyer's. We checked it out in June 2005.

An assembled machine, and a description of its operation, is at: http://www.woodsidepress.com/LINOTYPE.HTML

The lead pot says:

Micro-Therm electric pot made by Mergenthaler Linotype Co. New York, USA.
